CPR AED Course

Purpose
The purpose is to provide the participant with the knowledge, the skills, and the attitude enabling him/her to administer resuscitation of a lifeless person by providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and by using a heart defibrillator.

Goal
By the end of the course the participant knows:

• Causes for cardiac arrest
• How to mount and operate a heart defibrillator (AED)
• How to administer CPR to a non-breathing unconscious patient with a heart defibrillator available

In addition the participant has understanding of:

• Safety rules pertaining to use of a heart defibrillator
• Indications for use of heart defibrillator
• Situations which may require special attention before use of heart defibrillator

Course Content:

• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) using a heart defibrillator
• Irregular heartbeat
• Heart attack
• Contents of a heart defibrillator
• Safety precautions for use of a heart defibrillator
• Indications and contraindications for use of a heart defibrillator
• Operating a heart defibrillator
• Internal instructions in case of serious illnesses/injuries
