Lay Rescuers (Basic First Aid)Purpose The purpose is to provide the participant with the knowledge, the skills, and the attitude enabling him/her to administer first aid in a variety of situations ranging from e.g. how to stop bleeding to resuscitating a lifeless person by providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and by using an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Goal By the end of the course the participant knows:
- Lifesaving First Aid
- Basic First Aid for Accidents
- First Aid for Bleeding
- First Aid for Small Injuries
- How to administer CPR to a non-breathing unconscious patient
- How to operate an automated external defibrillator (AED) when available
- Basics of Psychological First Aid

- ABC-Method
- The 4 Key Points of First Aid
- The Chain of Survival
