Pediatric - Infants and ChildrenPurpose The purpose of the Pediatric - Infants and Children Course is to provide the participant with the knowledge and skills to provide first aid to an infant or a child.
Goal By the end of the course the participant knows:
- How to check for breathing, respiration, and consciousness
- How to administer CPR to a non-breathing unconscious child with an external automated defibrillator (AED) available
- How to administer heart massage for infants and children
- How to administer rescue breathing for infants and children
- How to mount and operate an external automated defibrillator (AED)
- How to place the infant in recovery position
- How to create open airways for choking infants and children
- How to control external bleeding
- What to do in case of burns
- What to do in case of poisoning
- What to do in case of seizures
Course Content:
- AED for Children Ages 0 - 8 years
- Emergency Fire Safety and Evacuation Instructions
- The 4 Key Points of First Aid
- The Chain of Survival
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) using an external automated defibrillator (AED)
- Psychological First Aid
Duration Full: 6 hours Refresher: 3 hours
Certificate Upon successful completion the participants will receive a certificate of completion. |
